Right after the snow melts, Balsamroot blooms create a yellow carpet over 200 acres of preserved grassland on The Rise – just one of the ecological features that make this place magical. So when we set out to develop this land we made some solid commitments to it.
We began with one of the most comprehensive environmental studies conducted in the area, mapping species, ecosystems, and micro-climates. As a result, we are preserving a third of the 735-acre site, and through the development of the golf course, are actually creating a 4:1 improvement in bird habitat on the plateau.
Working with the District of Vernon, we have created an irrigation system for the golf course and landscaping that uses reclaimed water from the city’s treatment plant.
Every home on The Rise will be heated and cooled with a ground source geothermal system that pays off in reduced energy use and savings for homeowners as well.
Which all means that a resort home on The Rise will also be a sustainable environment for your future.
